About The Lumberyard

Heritage & Commitment

Founded in 2021 by longtime Vermillion residents, Nick and Randy, The Lumberyard LLC was born out of a commitment to preserve and continue the legacy of local lumber supply. Witnessing the closure of nearby lumberyards, they stepped up to ensure that our community's need for quality building materials was met locally, without the long travel.

Nick, Randy & The Lumberyard LLC

With a passion for sustainable building and community service, Nick Slattery and Randy Sibson continue to make a significant impact in Vermillion. Owners of AMS Building Systems and The Lumberyard LLC, they bring over 50 years of combined experience in the construction industry. Their extensive background in creating custom homes and commercial buildings complements their efforts at The Lumberyard, which they established in 2021 after acquiring and rebranding Herren Schempp Lumber & Supply. At both AMS and The Lumberyard, Nick and Randy are dedicated to providing top-quality building materials, maintaining strong community ties, and building on their legacy of quality construction and service.
